I can't stop thinking about the close-knit community in Vermont-Slauson and how this tragedy has impacted them. Having someone like Grant, who was well-known, taken away so abruptly is tough. Especially when you consider how he was looking forward to his 60th birthday in such a joyful way. Gathering on a street corner and sharing stories is a daily ritual for many locals, and knowing that something this violent could happen in a place associated with friendship and camaraderie is terrifying. I keep wondering if anyone saw something that can be useful to the investigation. It’s crucial that people in the area feel safe enough to speak up, and I hope that those affected find the strength to come together and support one another during this incredibly difficult time.
