I'm curious if anyone knows exactly what the weather was like on the day Carl Steven Matthews set sail from Brady's Fish Camp? I’ve been trying to find some more context on that particular day in October ‘91. Sometimes, boat accidents can be closely tied to unexpected weather changes or rough seas. Just wondering if anyone familiar with Gulfport or the Cat Island area remembers anything specific about the conditions that day. It's been over three decades, and it always makes me think about what exactly might’ve gone wrong on that trip.

Did anyone else catch that Carl Matthews' skiff was found a whole month after his disappearance? I've been curious about where it was discovered in the Cat Island Channel. Was it anchored, drifting, or damaged in any way? I wonder if there were any signs that could point to what might have happened. Given the time frame, I'm thinking maybe the boat moved with the tides or even made unwanted ‘stops’, if you get what I mean. Could it still hold any clues, even after all these years?
