I’ve been thinking a lot about the safety concerns around Compton recently, especially after the tragic loss of Leonel Arechiga Morales. It just devastates me to hear another young life cut short. I grew up in the area and remember a time when kids could play outside without so much fear. Now, it seems like there’s another incident every week. What’s even more frustrating is the lack of suspects or answers. It feels like the community is constantly on edge, waiting for the next incident without closure for the past ones. I'm really hoping someone who knows something about what happened to Leonel finds the courage to come forward. It’s crucial for his family to get the answers they deserve, and for the community to begin healing. It’s a complicated issue, but perhaps if we can all work together, we might be able to encourage a safer environment for everyone.
