Jalil Rashad George, a 24-year-old Black male, was an ambitious real estate investor with a vision for a better Baltimore. A recent college graduate with a degree in engineering, he was actively working to improve his community. On the afternoon of December 7, 2022, he was at a property he was renovating in the 2500 block of Oswego Avenue when his life was tragically cut short. He was shot in the arm and the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
His death was one of four fatal shootings that occurred within a one-mile radius in the Park Heights area within a 24-hour period.
The Baltimore Police have stated that they believe Jalil was not the intended target of the shooting. Investigators suspect it was a case of mistaken identity, believing the gunman targeted him because his car was similar to a vehicle involved in an earlier shooting nearby. His family and friends remember him as a positive and fearless young man who was on a path to success and inspired many people. He was a son, brother, grandson, and nephew who stayed out of trouble and was dedicated to his goals.
As of now, the homicide of Jalil Rashad George remains unsolved, and no arrests have been made in connection with his murder. His loved ones continue to seek justice and keep his memory alive. Metro Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $27,000 for any information that leads to the arrest and charging of the person or persons responsible for his death. The investigation is ongoing.
