I was just thinking about how crucial community involvement is in cases like Kerry R. Gilkey Jr.’s. It’s a tragedy that might shake anyone into questioning their own safety and the state of violence in our neighborhoods. The neighborhood of Frayser seems to be one of those parts of Memphis where gun violence is, unfortunately, not uncommon. I can't help but think about how important it is for local residents to work together with law enforcement to create a safer environment. Kerry's family and friends deserve to see justice served, and I believe our best chance at preventing future incidents is a community that stands united against violence. If anyone in Frayser has information, please reach out to the authorities. It could make all the difference. Let's support each other and honor the lives forever changed by these senseless acts. My heart goes out to everyone affected by Kerry’s loss.
