On April 16, 2006, 24-year-old William Elliott was fatally shot in his Corinth, Maine, home by Stephen Marshall, a 20-year-old from Nova Scotia. Earlier that day, Marshall had killed 57-year-old Joseph Gray in Milo, Maine. Both victims were registered sex offenders whose addresses Marshall obtained from Maine's online sex offender registry.

Marshall accessed the registry to gather information on 34 individuals, including Elliott and Gray. He used this data to locate their residences and ...Read More
