Has anyone else been following the recent developments in the Zion Wilder case? I've been thinking a lot about the trauma his family must be going through, especially his younger cousin who was also hurt in the shooting. It's just unfathomable to imagine such a young person enduring something so horrific. Moreover, it pierces my heart to think about the ripple effect this has on the younger kids who were present in the house. The whole situation feels deeply personal, especially with the family describing it as an "ambush." I can't help but wonder what led up to this senseless violence. Knowing that Zion was about to graduate and start a new chapter in his life makes it even more devastating. It's somewhat reassuring to know the suspects are apprehended, but I just hope justice can bring some semblance of peace to Zion’s family and the entire community. I truly think more needs to be done to prevent this kind of violence and to protect our communities. Zion seemed like he had so much potential and it's tragic to see a life taken too soon. My condolences go out to his friends and family, and I hope there are supports in place for all the kids affected by this. Let’s keep raising awareness – this can't just end here.
