Hey everyone, I’ve been following the case of Steve Chaney and David Hambrick recently. I was just wondering if anyone else noticed the odd timing of their fishing trip? They set out so close to an incoming tropical system, which seems a bit risky, especially with unpredictable weather on the water. I’ve read that some experienced fishermen sometimes head out before storms for better catches, but this seems to be cutting it pretty close, don’t you think? I'm curious if there's any more information on what the weather forecast was that day, or if there were any warnings given. Just trying to piece everything together and understand what might have been going on that day. Any insights?
I’ve been thinking a lot about the weather conditions the day Steve and David went missing. The fact that a tropical system was approaching is really concerning. I came across some reports that indicated there were rough seas and strong winds that day. Does anyone know if the Coast Guard's search was hindered because of these conditions? I'm wondering if they had to call off any search days due to safety risks for their crews. It seems like this might've delayed them from covering more ground in those crucial early hours. It's terrifying to think how unpredictable the ocean can be and what might have happened out there. Would love to hear from anyone who has experience with Coast Guard ops in these kinds of conditions.
