Angela's passion for dance was truly inspiring, and it's so devastating to think that someone so creative and full of life has been lost in such a senseless act. I remember meeting her briefly at a dance workshop last year, and she left a lasting impression with her vibrant energy and kindness. It's baffling to me that someone she considered a friend could be involved in such a heinous crime. The community at Duke and beyond has lost a bright star. I hope the investigation uncovers the truth so Angela’s family and friends can find some semblance of peace. Meanwhile, the outpouring of support on her GoFundMe page just shows how many lives she touched. ?
I've been following the case of Angela Risi, and something that keeps lingering in my mind is the connection between her and Stephon Dubose. They say he was a friend, even helping her out when she moved to Durham. It's baffling how someone so close could be involved in such a horrendous act. Knowing Angela's vibrant spirit and dedication to her craft, it’s just hard to comprehend how a relationship that seemed supportive could end in such tragedy.
The fact that the motive is still unclear must be agonizing for Angela's loved ones. I can't even begin to fathom the turmoil they’re experiencing, trying to make sense of this senseless act while mourning the loss of such a bright soul. Angela seemed to have such a promising future ahead in the arts; it’s truly a loss not only to her family and friends but to the whole dance and academic community.
Has anyone else been able to find more information on Dubose's background or any possible issues that could have led to this? I feel like understanding more about their relationship might provide some insight, if not closure, for all those grieving.
It's just incredibly hard to wrap my head around the fact that someone Angela trusted could do something so awful. From everything I've read, Stephon Dubose, or "Jimmy" as she knew him, seemed like a normal friend in her life. Apparently, he even helped Angela with her move to Durham!
It’s just such a gut-wrenching reminder that things aren't always as they seem, and that we don’t always know what's going on in the minds of those around us. It's devastating to think Angela’s bright future in dance is lost forever, especially with all those who cared for and loved her having to carry this burden.
Watching how both university and online communities have rallied around Angela's family in support and mourning shows how deeply she was loved.
