I've been following the tragic case of Hector Delgado's murder and can't stop thinking about the ripple effects this kind of violence has on the community. It's truly disheartening to see young lives being caught up in these senseless cycles of retaliation. Delgado's death wasn't just a loss to his family and friends but to the entire East Harlem community, which continues to grapple with these ongoing issues. I understand that Trevor Gibbs and others involved have been brought to justice, but I keep wondering if that's enough. Punishing those involved is important, but what steps can be taken to prevent these situations from happening again? How do we stop the next cycle before it starts? There needs to be more focus on providing better opportunities and support for these communities to break this devastating cycle. My heart goes out to all the families affected and to the community trying to heal from such a tragic loss.
