It's so difficult to process another life being cut short in such a horrific way, and my heart goes out to Hasan's friends and family. I wanted to bring up something that really struck me about this case. It's chilling to think that the suspect, Deshaun Coleman, has been arrested 19 times before this tragedy. How did the system allow someone with such a long rap sheet to continue to walk free? In situations like these, my mind always goes to the "what-ifs." Could things have turned out differently if something had been done sooner? And don't get me wrong, it's crucial that we uncover everything about this crime, but we also have to dig deeper into the systemic issues that allow for repeat offenders to continue posing a threat to the community. NYPD's efforts to capture him should be acknowledged, but it's evident there are larger cracks in the system that need our attention. Has anyone else been feeling this frustration with how often we're seeing news like this, especially in what used to be relatively safer areas? It's just all so senseless. I hope for strength and justice for Hasan's loved ones.
