I can't believe how recklessly someone's life can be taken away in the blink of an eye. William Alcindor sounds like he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. It's terrifying to think that he was just living his life, doing something as routine as driving, and then he became an innocent victim of such violence. It's really devastating for his family; losing a loved one to such senseless violence must be unimaginably painful.
I'm also thinking about the young woman who was injured. She was just walking along, and now her life has been changed forever. It’s going to be a long recovery for her, both physically and emotionally. But hopefully, she's getting the support she needs.
