Bobby Ray Pegg, a 45-year-old white male from Barnardsville, NC, was found dead on March 23, 2017. His niece discovered his body in his home, and it was later determined that he had died from multiple gunshot wounds. The incident was initially not ruled a homicide until evidence of foul play emerged. Pegg was a father of three children and was known for his giving nature and sense of humor.
