I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact of domestic violence in our communities recently, especially after learning about the murder of Geraldine "Geri" Krecmer. The fact that this is the second domestic violence incident resulting in a fatality in the area in just three weeks is deeply concerning. It really highlights the urgent need for more preventive measures, don't you think? I'm particularly interested in the proposed legislation that would require police officers to temporarily confiscate firearms in domestic violence situations. It sounds like a step in the right direction, but I’m curious about how effective it might actually be in preventing tragedies like this. What do others think? It’s such a complex issue with no easy solutions, but surely we need to do everything possible to protect those at risk. My heart goes out to Geri’s family during this incredibly tough time. Losing a loved one is never easy, and in such a tragic way, it must be unimaginable. Sending much love and strength their way.

It’s so unbelievably sad to hear about Geri Krecmer’s passing. I came across her story, and it’s just gut-wrenching to think about the pain her family must be going through right now. My heart goes out to TJ, Dylan, Anthony, Jessica, and all of her grandchildren. Geri sounds like she was such a vibrant person who truly loved life and her family. With the recent events in the Yorktown-Somers area, I find myself thinking more and more about the measures we have in place to protect people from domestic violence. It’s just not enough, and we’re seeing these avoidable losses. The idea of law enforcement temporarily seizing firearms during domestic disputes seems like a logical step to me. Maybe it won’t solve everything, but it’s a start. I really hope Geri’s story sparks more conversation and action in the community. We owe it to her and others like her to fight for stronger protections. Sending all my love and thoughts to her family and hoping they find some peace in this tumultuous time.
