I was reading through some updates about Adriana's case, and my thoughts keep returning to the role of the school. It’s really concerning that an attack like this could happen on school grounds and escalate the way it did. I can’t imagine what her family is going through, but it got me thinking about how schools are supposed to be a safe place for students. It makes you wonder about the effectiveness of anti-bullying programs currently in place. Despite some students facing charges, what happens to the policies that failed to protect Adriana in the first place? There’s a pressing need for schools to take a long, hard look at their procedures and accountability measures to prevent such despairing outcomes. Schools should be sanctuaries, not battlegrounds. Sending love to Adriana's family and friends during this unimaginably tough time.
