I came across an article about young Jacob Duncan, and my heart goes out to his family and friends. The senselessness of this tragedy is just overwhelming. I can’t imagine the pain Eric must be feeling, holding his baby brother during such circumstances. It breaks me to think about the innocence lost that day in Pageland.
I was reading about the memorial efforts, and I think the "Forever 13" T-shirts and lantern release are beautiful ways to keep Jacob's spirit alive. It's comforting to see a community come together to support his family and friends through this unimaginable time.
I wonder how the investigation is going and if any new leads have come up. It's so frustrating to think that those responsible are still out there. I've been following Jacob's case since the news broke, and I can't stop thinking about his brother, Eric. I can't imagine the trauma of being there in those final moments with Jacob. I just can't get over the devastation the Duncan family must be experiencing right now. Jacob was so young, with his whole life ahead of him, and to think he was just an innocent kid caught up in something so senseless is beyond tragic.
