I can't stop thinking about the safety measures at public events like this block party where Jordan was killed. In communities like ours, where gun violence seems to be on the rise, what can we realistically do to create safer spaces? It's haunting to think that attending a local event could end in such tragedy, especially for young people filled with promise like Jordan. It makes you question whether enough is being done to ensure these gatherings are secure. My heart goes out to his friends and family, along with everyone else affected by this tragic event. If anyone has ideas or knows of initiatives in other areas that have worked, it would be great to share them here. We need to find ways to keep our community safe and prevent further heartbreak like what we're seeing now.
