Hey everyone, I’ve been following the recent tragic events in Jackson and my thoughts are with the families of Markavius Carey and Quavious Banks. It’s incredibly challenging to process how two young lives can be taken so suddenly and violently on the same day. I stumbled upon a detail I hadn’t noticed anyone discussing yet – Berryhill Place, where Markavius was found. Does anyone else think the choice of location might have some significance? It's typically a quiet area, and I wonder if there's a reason he ended up there, or if it was just happenstance. Was it a place he frequented or felt safe previously?

I'm really disturbed by the rise in violence we're seeing here in Jackson, especially with two young lives lost on the same day. My heart goes out to the family of Markavius Carey. I can't imagine the shock and pain they're experiencing right now.
One thing that keeps running through my mind is how public spaces are becoming less and less safe. The shooting happened around 4:20 p.m., which isn't exactly late at night when you'd expect things to be quieter and potentially more dangerous. This was broad daylight. It makes me wonder about the level of risk kids and teens feel just heading out to meet friends or run errands. Is this really how we want our community to be?
I think it's really crucial for people around Jackson to come together and speak up if they know anything, even the smallest detail, because that's how we can start making a difference.
