I just came across this case, and it really struck a chord with me. It's so unsettling to think that an argument between colleagues could escalate to such a tragic end. Captain Justin James Whipps seemed to be someone who was well-loved and respected by his peers, and I can't even imagine the pain his family is going through right now. It makes you wonder about the kinds of pressures correctional officers face and why a place expected to uphold law and order witnessed such a chaotic and violent incident. I really hope the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation gets to the bottom of what happened that day. The safety of those working in these facilities needs to be a priority so that we can prevent senseless losses like this. My thoughts are with the Whipps family, and I hope they get the answers and justice they deserve.
