On a spring evening in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the life of eighteen-year-old Demario Dejuan Sanders was tragically cut short. On April 1, 2000, the young man was simply driving his vehicle, a bystander in a conflict that was not his own. As he traveled eastbound at the intersection of East 46th Street North and North Boston Avenue, he was caught in the crossfire of a gunfight that erupted between two other individuals.
