I just can't stop thinking about how close-knit Lumberton is and how something like this could happen there. Cody must have been known by so many in the community, and I imagine his loss is felt on such a personal level by the folks there. It's terrifying to think that gun violence can hit even in small towns where everyone is familiar with each other. We really need to address this as a country to prevent more families from experiencing this kind of tragedy. My heart goes out to Cody’s loved ones—hoping they find some answers and peace soon.
I've been thinking a lot about the Cody Watkins case, and it just breaks my heart that someone so young had their life cut short. I wanted to talk about the community response because it seems like everyone in Lumberton has rallied together in support of Cody's family. Cody was a member of our community, and it feels like this tragedy has left a ripple effect throughout the town.
