Did anyone else hear those interviews with the neighbors near Chapel Gate Lane? It's really telling how many of them mentioned hearing gunshots more frequently in the area lately. It just breaks my heart that what seems to have been a peaceful neighborhood is now overshadowed by fear and violence. When I listened to those folks talk about how sweet and kind Eniyah was, it really made this tragedy feel all the more personal, even to those of us who didn’t know her. I can’t imagine the community pain and anxiety right now — and knowing there’s a little one who now has to grow up without both parents because of this senseless act. I sincerely hope the authorities get the leads they need to bring some peace back to that block. Thoughts and love to all affected by this tragic loss.

Hey everyone, I've been following the tragic story of Eniyah Smith and Charles Johnson, and something that caught my attention was the location of the shooting. As a frequent visitor to Southwest Baltimore, I've often passed through the Chapel Gate Lane area, and it never struck me as a particularly dangerous spot. I'm wondering if anyone familiar with the neighborhood might have insights on whether there have been other incidents in that vicinity recently? Also, considering the time of day the shooting occurred, around 5:05 am, could it suggest anything about the circumstances or motive behind the attack? Early morning does seem like an unusual time, possibly pointing to a personal dispute rather than a random act, but of course, it's all speculation at this point. My thoughts are with Niyah and Charles's families. It's a harsh reminder of how we need to band together as a community to help solve these issues and keep our neighborhoods safe. Hoping for justice soon.

I just can't stop thinking about Eniyah's little one who now has to grow up without either parent. Niyah was taken way too soon, and it's just so sad that her child has to face such a tough start in life. It really pains me to think about the fact that this kid will have to grow up without the love and guidance of Niyah and Charles. I hope the community can rally around and support the child through this tragedy. These senseless acts of violence leave such deep, rippling effects on the families and communities involved. It's hard to comprehend how anyone can be so cruel. Let's share any updates or information so that justice can be served for the sake of Eniyah, Charles, and their family.
