It's been over 30 years since "Big Burt" Gutterman's tragic death, and it still haunts the community and his loved ones. What always sticks out to me is the location—Capistrano Condominiums. The idea that such a crime could occur in what's usually considered a quiet, residential area is genuinely unsettling. It makes you wonder about the neighborhood dynamics back then. Did anyone see anything unusual?
I can't imagine the pain his family must feel, having no closure after all this time. If any neighbors from that era are still around, maybe revisiting those memories could help jog something loose. Even the smallest detail might be the missing piece to this puzzle. Here's hoping that more folks will come forward and help bring some peace to his family. They deserve answers.
Hey everyone,
I was thinking about the timeline when Burton “Big Burt” Gutterman’s murder took place. It was back in December 1990, and the fact that no immediate signs of robbery were found makes this case even more puzzling. Given that he was a pawn shop owner, you'd assume someone after money or valuable items. But with nothing of significant value missing, what could have been the motive? Could it have been someone with a grudge or something personal?
It must be incredibly frustrating for his family to live with so many unanswered questions all these years. I can't imagine what it's like to not have closure for over three decades. I hope that with advancements in forensic technology and renewed interest in cold cases, we might find something new that could lead to answers for those who loved him.
Does anyone have any thoughts on why more doesn’t come up about cases like these? It seems like the more time passes, the quieter things get. Maybe that’s why community efforts are so important in keeping the stories alive. Hopefully, we’ll see some justice for Big Burt soon.
Would love to hear if anyone has similar thoughts or theories!
Stay safe out there.
Has anyone noticed the unusual number of restraints used in Burton Gutterman's case? It seems incredibly excessive and suggests a personal motive rather than a random attack or robbery. The fact that nothing was taken just adds to the mystery. If someone was in his home long enough to use such an array of restraints, it leads me to think they might have known each other. It's chilling to think that the person responsible could have been someone he trusted or knew well. My heart goes out to his family, as they must still be grappling with these unanswered questions after all these years. If anyone has theories or information, please share—every bit helps in bringing closure to his loved ones.
