I just can't shake how unsettling it is that we're hearing about another tragedy at what should be a safe place—a smoke shop, where someone is just doing their job. Ahmed Fahmi should've had the expectation that he'd finish his shift and go home safely, like we all do. It's really troubling that there's absolutely no suspect information yet. The fact that he was alone at the time makes it all the more tragic. I'm hoping that someone who knows something will come forward and help the family get the justice they desperately need. My thoughts are with his family in this incredibly difficult time. Stay safe, everyone near 7th Ave and Hatcher. If you know anything, even the smallest detail, don't hesitate to reach out to the authorities.
