He was last seen leaving his home around 11:30 p.m., driving his silver and black 2004 Dodge extended cab truck with Texas plates, heading toward Waco. Parker, who suffered from type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and Alzheimer's disease, left without his necessary medications, raising serious concerns for his well-being.
On the morning of April 25, Parker was reportedly seen near Lake Brownwood, about 100 miles from his home. His truck was later found abandoned at the Mountain View Lodge near the lake, where it had been parked for several days. Nearby, his shoes and some opened soda cans were discovered, but there was no sign of Parker. Despite extensive searches in the area, including the use of divers, no immediate leads emerged regarding his whereabouts.
In 2022, more than a decade after his disappearance, human remains were discovered near Lake Brownwood, and they were later identified as those of Richard Parker.
