Hey everyone,
I’ve been following Marvin G. Moore’s case closely, and I can’t get over the fact that he was there for such a joyous occasion—his daughter’s birthday—only to have it turn so tragically. I’ve seen many families shattered by the senseless violence in Baltimore, and it’s truly unimaginable what his loved ones must be going through right now.
I wanted to bring up something that’s been on my mind—the role of community safety and the environment in these situations. I read that neighbors and witnesses are deeply disturbed by the violence in their area, and with good reason. It must be terrifying to feel unsafe even during what should be happy moments.
Neighborhood safety is something we don’t talk about enough in relation to these crimes. It's easy to focus solely on the individuals involved, but I feel like understanding the broader community context is crucial too. How can we expect change if the people in these communities are constantly living in fear?
I really hope meaningful steps are taken to ensure safer environments for everyone in Baltimore and beyond. Marvin's tragic story is a harsh reminder that we have a long way to go.
Sending all my thoughts to Marvin’s daughter and family. They deserve peace and justice.
