I'm devastated by the news of Tai'Vion Lathan's murder and wanted to share some more thoughts. The way her friends and family describe her really shows how much light she brought to those around her. It’s so crucial to remember that this isn’t just a statistic or a headline - it was a life full of love, humor, and potential. What struck me the most is how such a vibrant spirit could be taken from us in such a violent way. It makes me think about the underlying issues that contribute to this kind of hate and violence. We need to talk more about the risks faced by Black trans women, who are often on the frontlines of suffering from societal neglect and violence. I hope people who know anything will step forward. There’s still that glimmer of hope that justice can be served. Until then, let's continue supporting Tai'Vion’s loved ones, and raising awareness about the violence against the trans community. No one should live in fear or have their life cut short just for being who they are.
