I just keep thinking about how close this situation was to being prevented. It's so devastating to hear that Mohammed and Zohreh did everything they could within the legal system to protect themselves. They got that protection order just a week prior, clearly taking the threat seriously. The fact that law enforcement was actively trying to serve the warrant but couldn't locate Khodakaramrezaei just shows how complicated these situations can be with someone like a truck driver who's constantly on the move. It's so frustrating and sad that even when victims take the right steps, there are still gaps that let such horrors slip through. My heart goes out to the families, knowing how hard it must be to find out that despite Mohammed and Zohreh doing everything "right," it wasn't enough to save them. I hope this case pushes for some critical changes in how protection orders are enforced, especially in complex situations like this. Everyone deserves to feel safe from harassment and stalking, both online and in their daily lives.
