On March 10, 2023, Mohammed Milad Naseri, a 35-year-old male of Iranian descent, was tragically killed in his Redmond, Washington, home. The evening of the incident, Naseri and his wife, Zohreh Sadeghi, became the victims of a horrific home invasion that ended in a murder-suicide. The perpetrator was identified as Ramin Khodakaramrezaei, a 38-year-old truck driver from Texas who had been stalking Sadeghi.
The events leading up to the tragic night began when Khodakaramrezaei, a listener of Sadeghi's podcast, developed an obsession with her. This obsession escalated into a relentless stalking campaign that included hundreds of daily calls and unwanted gifts. Concerned for their safety, the couple took legal action, obtaining a temporary protection order against Khodakaramrezaei just days before the attack. However, due to his transient profession, authorities were unable to serve him the order.
In the early morning hours, Khodakaramrezaei broke into the couple's home through a window. Sadeghi's mother, who was also in the house, managed to escape and call for help. When police arrived, they found Naseri near the doorway with gunshot wounds. Despite their efforts to perform CPR, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Inside the home, officers discovered the bodies of Sadeghi and Khodakaramrezaei, who had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. No arrests were made as the sole suspect took his own life.
