I’ve been thinking a lot about "Nana" Marvita McCaskill and the future she was planning before she was taken from her loved ones. It’s such a tragic reminder of how quickly violence can shatter dreams. I came across a note from one of her meetings at Living Waters Christian Fellowship – she was brainstorming recipes for the restaurant or food truck she wanted to open. Her passion for food and community was so inspiring. I can't help but imagine how her culinary creations could have brought joy and togetherness to so many people in Columbus. I'm hoping more people talk about the potential she had and the positivity she brought into the world. It’s essential we keep her memory alive, not just as a victim of a senseless act, but as a person who had so much love to give and so much yet to accomplish. If anyone has more stories about her dreams and aspirations, I would love to hear them. Let’s remember Marvita for the vibrant life she lived and what she stood for!
