Has anyone here looked into the location where all this went down? That strip mall on Demorest Road seems like a strange choice for a meet-up. I drove by recently, and it’s not exactly a secluded area, lots of businesses and people coming and going. It makes me wonder if they felt safe meeting there because it was public, or if there was some other reason they preferred that spot. It's gut-wrenching to think about poor Gene's final moments and how quickly things turned tragic for him. Maybe someone working in one of those stores saw something important that hasn’t been reported yet. Praying for his family, I can't even imagine what they’re going through. Let's hope the community keeps helping the police piece together what actually happened.
