I'm still trying to wrap my head around the details of Natisha "Tink" Phillips' tragic death. The community has really come together to honor her memory, and it's clear she touched so many lives. One thing that struck me, though, is how the system might have failed in preventing tragedies like this. John Griffin III, the accused, was reportedly a convicted felon. It makes me wonder about how he was able to access a firearm in the first place. What measures are in place to prevent convicted felons from obtaining weapons, and how can they be improved? It's infuriating to think that with better control and enforcement, this senseless loss might have been avoided. My heart aches for Tink's family, especially knowing how her children will have to navigate life without their mother. Her story is a sobering reminder of the changes we need in our community to keep everyone safe. Anyone have insights on how Wichita handles gun control issues, especially concerning prior offenders?
