Hey everyone,
I've been following the discussions around Norman Bell's case, and my thoughts keep returning to the virtual candle initiative on the National Gun Violence Memorial website. I know it might seem like a small gesture in the grand scheme of things, but I believe it’s a powerful way for us to come together and show support for Norman's family and others affected by gun violence.
Lighting a virtual candle might not bring back those we've lost, but it’s a way to keep their memory alive and to express solidarity with victims' families in a meaningful way. It's heartbreaking to see a young life like Norman’s cut short, and I can't imagine the pain his loved ones are going through.
The loss weighs heavily on the community, underscoring the necessity for increased dialogue around ways to prevent such senseless acts of violence. Has anyone else participated in the virtual candle initiative, or have other ideas on how we can collectively make a difference?
Sending thoughts to everyone touched by this tragedy.
Take care,

Has anyone else read about the candle-lighting initiative for Norman Bell on the National Gun Violence Memorial website? It's such a touching way for people to come together in memory of those lost to such senseless violence. I know virtual gestures can sometimes feel a bit disconnected, but knowing that people all over are lighting up their screens in his honor gives me a sense of community and hope. It’s a small yet powerful reminder that even in the face of tragic loss, we are not alone in this struggle. I can only imagine what his family is going through, and I hope they find some comfort in seeing how many people care and remember Norman. Has there been any local movement or rally happening in Marrero or Avondale to address gun violence since the incident? I'd love to know more about how the community is responding and what steps, if any, are being taken to prevent further tragedies.
