I’ve been thinking a lot about the role of community in tragedy. Oak Grove is such a tight-knit place, and we all feel the ripples when something like this happens. I remember Dewayne from church; he was always friendly and would stop to chat about the latest fishing spot or how his garden was doing. The fact that the funeral service was so well-attended speaks volumes about how many lives he touched. My heart goes out to his family, especially his mother, Dorothy, who I can only imagine is going through an unfathomable time right now. It's moments like these that really remind us how precious and fragile life is. While the investigation continues, I hope the community can offer support and understanding to all those caught up in this tragedy. Anyone else remember his big smile and the way he laughed?
