I read about Edrick's case, and it just pains me to think about how suddenly his life was taken. I was particularly struck by the fact that he survived Hurricane Katrina and used his skills as a truck driver to help rebuild and support the community afterward. It’s incredibly tragic that someone who contributed so much to his city had his life ended in such a violent way. To think he was employed with Basco for so long, working both long-haul and local routes, shows just how dedicated he was not only to his job but to supporting his family too. It's such a shame that his granddaughter will miss out on growing up with such a loving grandfather around. I hope the community and anyone who might have witnessed something that night will come forward with information. Edrick deserves justice, and his family deserves peace.
