Has anyone been following the case about Corey James Lapoint? It’s been on my mind since I heard the news. It’s just so surreal to think about someone losing their life like this. My thoughts are with Corey’s family and friends; I can’t even begin to imagine what they must be going through right now.
I find it strange how life twists and turns. Corey had that past incident in Topsy back in 2018, but did that really have anything to do with where he ended up now? I can’t help but wonder if there's any connection between that past and this tragic event. Maybe it’s just coincidence, but it feels like there’s a puzzle here begging to be solved.
If anyone is local and knows anything, it’s so important to reach out to the authorities. This family deserves answers, and the community should do everything it can to help. Keeping them in my thoughts.

I live nearby, and while Lafayette isn't immune to crime, this incident with Corey James Lapoint caught me off guard. Even though past events have come to light after his passing, it’s essential to remember that Corey was someone’s son, friend, and possibly more to those who knew him personally. I came across some info about his past arrest in 2018 related to a crime in Topsy, LA, and it got me thinking—could his past have any connection to his murder?
I believe everyone deserves a chance to change and move forward with their lives, and whatever the circumstances of his previous arrest, Corey didn’t deserve this. It’s vital for us to focus on getting justice for him by encouraging anyone with relevant information to reach out to the authorities. We might not have all the answers now, but sharing what we know could be a step toward finding those responsible and understanding what truly happened that night.
