I’ve been following the case of Anthony T. Vinson Jr., and my heart goes out to his family. It's absolutely devastating to see yet another young life lost to violence. I can’t even start to imagine the pain his loved ones are going through right now. I noticed that his funeral was held at New Birth Baptist Church, which I know is a cornerstone for many in the community. The church must have been filled with people who loved and supported Anthony, and I hope that brought even a small bit of comfort to his family during such an incredibly difficult time. Seeing the community come together might be a reminder of how important unity is in moments of tragedy. If anyone attended the service or has thoughts on how the community can rally for change, I’d love to hear. We need to work towards a future where fewer families have to endure this kind of heart-wrenching loss.
