I’ve been following the tragic case of Javarius Hendrix, and my thoughts go out to his loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. While the focus has rightly been on finding justice for Javarius, I think it’s worth acknowledging the impact his death has had on the community, especially on those who knew him well. Pastor Corey Nelson's response has been particularly poignant. He’s been vocal about the safety issues plaguing the area, and his efforts to care for and support local kids have been commendable. Even while facing his own fears and threats, he has opened his heart and home to help the young ones around him. It's heartwarming to see such dedication amid the pain. Does anyone here have thoughts on what more the community or city might be able to do to support these initiatives? Grassroots efforts like Pastor Nelson’s seem vital, yet they also need broader support. Would love to hear any suggestions or examples of successful programs in other areas that could possibly be adapted to help here.
