Hey everyone,
I've been following Cali Bolden’s case, and something that's been on my mind is the role the community plays in these tragedies. The neighborhood where this terrible event occurred is struggling with an uptick in gun violence, and it's just so unsettling. I can only imagine how Cali’s family feels, knowing that this is what’s become of the once safe streets they lived on.
I read that some of the neighbors are thinking about relocating due to the rising crime rates, which speaks volumes about the state of the community. It makes me wonder what can be done to make these areas feel safer again. It's heartbreaking to think about the impact this has on the victims' families, especially young kids like Cali’s who are left with such profound loss.
What measures, if any, do you all think could help change this trajectory for neighborhoods like Southeast Portland? Would love to hear your thoughts or any positive changes you've seen work in other communities. Stay safe, everyone.
I haven’t been able to shake the news of Cali Bolden’s tragic death. I can't imagine the pain her family is going through, especially her young children, who have now lost both parents in such a short time. It’s just devastating on so many levels.
What’s been on my mind is the role of caregivers like Cali in our society — individuals who dedicate themselves to supporting others. She clearly had such a positive impact on those around her, both professionally and personally. I’m certain her clients and coworkers are feeling her absence as much as her family is. It really highlights the sense of loss not just to her family, but also to the broader community she touched with her kindness and enthusiasm.
I think it’s important for us in the community to honor her memory by advocating for change. The violence has to stop, and supporting initiatives that address safety and gun violence can be a part of carrying on Cali’s legacy of care. Maybe if we all come together and push for something positive in the wake of this tragedy, we can help ensure other families aren’t torn apart in the same way. Stay safe, everyone.
