Hey everyone,
I’ve been following Anna Wessel's case, and something that really stuck out to me were the notes that Anthony left behind. It’s incredibly chilling to think about the mindset he must have been in when writing them. I can’t even begin to imagine the torment and turmoil that Anna's family must be experiencing knowing these notes exist, detailing such an awful intention.
I hope they can find some solace in the swift actions of the authorities and that they're taking things one day at a time. It’s deeply unsettling to think how calculated some actions can be, yet somehow not proceed as planned. I can only guess that turning himself in was possibly Anthony's last shred of acknowledgment of the gravity of what he did.
Has anyone seen any similar cases where suspects planned something this horrific but stopped short of following through with all of it? I wonder what kind of mental struggle precedes that decision to turn oneself in. My thoughts are with Anna's friends and family during this incredibly difficult time.
