It's so incredibly hard to process what happened to Loren Marino. I've been thinking a lot about her pups, Darla and Spanky, lately. It's heartbreaking that they were there when this horrible event unfolded. Animals can pick up on stress and fear, and I can only imagine how confused and scared they must have been. I really hope they find loving homes soon, with people who can give them the comfort and stability they need after experiencing such trauma. It’s just one of those additional layers of sadness in an already tragic situation. It's important we don't forget the impact on every innocent soul involved, including those furry companions. My thoughts go out to Loren's family—they’ve already lost so much, and now they have the added burden of ensuring her dogs find new, safe homes.
