On August 24, 2018, 23-year-old Kence Andrew Hedrick tragically lost his life in an accidental shooting near Alderson, West Virginia. The incident occurred on Mt. Vernon Road in the Fort Spring area around 10:45 a.m. Both the Greenbrier County Sheriff's Department and the West Virginia State Police responded to the scene. Sheriff Bruce Sloan identified the victim as Hedrick and indicated that the body was sent to the West Virginia Medical Examiner's Office as part of the investigation.
