I've been thinking a lot about the role of community in supporting families after tragedies like Devin's murder. It's hard to know how to help, but it seems like even small gestures can mean so much. The IMPD said the Victim Assistance Unit and Chaplain Office were there to support Devin's family, and I find some solace in knowing they had immediate care available. I can't imagine what Shanitha and Darrel are going through, losing their youngest like this. If anyone knows if there are ways for the local community to offer more support or if there's a fund set up for the family, please share it here. Sometimes it's these gestures that can help a grieving family feel less alone.
