Did anyone else catch the bit about Mary Lou’s involvement with the Mount Gilead VFW and St. Polycarp Catholic Church? I wonder if that community connection might provide any clues. It seems like she had deep ties in Crossville, which makes me think someone from the local area might know more about what happened. The fact that she and Michael both passed on the same day is just chilling. It’s hard to believe something so violent could happen to someone who sounds so beloved by everyone around her. My thoughts go out to her family, especially her daughter and all those grandchildren. I’m sure the community is rallying around them during this tragic time. If anyone has any updates from that area, please share. It’s important to keep this conversation going until justice is found.

I can't stop thinking about the incredible life Mary Lou led and how her passing leaves such a void in the community. As someone who grew up benefiting from her delicious meals and witnessing her incredible kindness firsthand, it’s hard to believe she’s gone in such a tragic way. Her dedication to the Mount Gilead schools, as a cook and server, touched so many lives. It always amazed me how she remembered everyone's names and favorite dishes; she just had that gift. It’s devastating to think that someone with so much compassion and warmth could be taken from us by violence. I can’t stop wondering about her final days and hoping she wasn’t in pain. I've read a little about the circumstances, and it’s just shocking. My thoughts are with her daughter Julie, her beloved grandchildren, and everyone who cherished her. Mary's spirit truly lives on in all the love she left behind and the memories we hold dear. If anyone wants to share or needs support, maybe we can find comfort in remembering her together. We need to figure out how to prevent more tragedies like this from happening. Justice for Mary Lou should be a priority—she deserves that, at the very least.
