I've been following the Kent B. Quilling case closely, and something that really stands out to me is the location where he was found. Collinsville Road has always been a bit known for its troubles. It breaks my spirit to see yet another life cut short in an area that already struggles with so much violence. How many lives need to be lost before real change happens?
My heart goes out to Kent's family and friends. I can't even imagine the pain they're going through right now. It must be so hard for them to find peace knowing this happened so close to home. And I have to wonder, with Dontez McCray's prior record, how was he still in a position to do something like this? It just seems like the justice system should've been able to prevent this tragedy somehow.
