Has anyone else been following the discussions around Omar Diaz's tragic death and its impact on the Highland Park community? I feel so deeply for Omar's family and friends, especially with school starting so soon after the incident. I've been reading about the increased security measures at Highland Park High School, including the new weapons detection systems and more police presence. It must be such an overwhelming time for students and staff alike. Do we think these measures will help everyone feel safer, or are there deeper issues that need addressing to prevent future tragedies? It's so sad to think this dispute between two teenagers escalated to such an extent. I hope Omar's loved ones are getting all the support they need during this unimaginably tough time.
