I’ve been thinking a lot about how these senseless acts of violence impact the living just as much as they claim lives. Carlos Guzman-Ezquivel, the older brother who passed away, was someone who a lot of people knew and loved. His journey was just beginning—graduating in 2022, getting a job at UPS, and still finding time for soccer, the sport he loved. It’s incredibly touching to see how the community has rallied around his family, especially through the GoFundMe page set up by his sister Anette. This kind of support really goes to show how much of an impact Carlos had on those around him. It’s such a profound loss, and my heart aches for Anette and her family. In times like these, though, it’s clear that this tight-knit community refuses to let the brothers’ legacy fade. Does anyone know if there are any other initiatives the community is planning to honor Carlos and Jose? Maybe something related to soccer or community service work they were passionate about? I would love to support in any way I can.
