I just cannot seem to wrap my head around how a neighborhood can go an entire year without any homicides, and then something like this happens so suddenly. It makes me wonder if this was random or if Candido Salinas was targeted for some reason. The lack of any arrest or suspect is unsettling, especially for those living in the area. I can't imagine the fear and confusion among residents and Candido's family. It's a stark reminder of how quickly things can change. I truly hope the police can unravel this case soon. Anyone else feel uneasy about the possibility of it happening again without knowing the motive?

I’ve been following the tragic case of Candido Salinas, the young man who was senselessly killed in McKinley Park earlier this year. It’s so unsettling to think about how the neighborhood had no homicides last year, and then such a tragedy hits right at the start of 2024.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the vehicle involved in the shooting. It seems like in these cases, vehicles can sometimes be traced back with just the smallest bits of information—like surveillance footage or even witness testimonials about unique features, such as dents, bumper stickers, or distinct colors. Has there been any word on potential descriptions, or are the authorities seeking help from the public for details about a car seen in the area?
Sending thoughts to Candido's family and hoping for justice soon. It’s tough to see a community shaken by such violence after having a year of peace.
