Hi everyone,
I’m heartbroken to hear about Treyvon M. Short's tragic death. My thoughts are with his family and friends during this unimaginable time. Seeing a young life taken so suddenly is anything but easy to process.
I’ve been following the tale of Humboldt Park in the broader scope of Chicago's crime issues. It’s frustrating that despite ongoing efforts to reduce violence, many neighborhoods still struggle with far too frequent incidents like this one. Does anyone know if there were any community programs or youth initiatives that Treyvon was part of? I’m curious if he was engaged in any efforts to make the area safer or if there’s a way the community can rally and honor his memory by pushing for more resources, like trauma support or youth mentorship programs.
