Has anyone else looked into the details surrounding Edward Smallcomb's death in 1965? It's odd that his fraudulent claim against Gunlicks' estate came so close to his demise. I know there's no direct evidence connecting him to Gunlicks' disappearance, but the timing is just too coincidental for my liking.
Does anyone have more info on how Smallcomb died, or any other possible connections he might have had with Gunlicks? It makes me wonder if their paths crossed more than we know or if someone was trying to tie up loose ends. With the case still unsolved all these years later, I can't help but think there might be more to explore regarding Smallcomb's involvement. Thoughts?
Has anyone else looked into the oddity surrounding Smallcomb's involvement? His attempt to file a $5,000 claim against Gunlicks’ estate raises so many questions. I find it incredibly suspicious that he was caught with a fraudulent claim and then ended up dead not long after. Could there have been more to this than a simple money grab? Perhaps Smallcomb had more significant reasons, or even connections, that we haven't discovered yet. Given the lack of evidence directly linking him to Vernon’s disappearance, it still feels like there's something we're missing here. Seems like these odd financial moves were more than just coincidence. Any thoughts or theories on Smallcomb's potential motives or ties?
Was anyone else struck by the timing of Edward Smallcomb's actions after Vernon Gunlicks disappeared? It seems really odd to me that a year later, Smallcomb suddenly decides to file a fraudulent $5,000 claim against Gunlicks' estate. It's almost like there's more to the story there. Why would he go after Gunlicks' estate like that unless he thought he could get away with it? What's even more puzzling is that shortly after that, Smallcomb ends up dead under suspicious circumstances. It's difficult not to wonder if there's a hidden connection between these events. Could Smallcomb have known something about what happened to Gunlicks? Or was his death just an unfortunate coincidence? It's eerie how no solid evidence surfaced to link him directly to Gunlicks' disappearance, but the timing of everything can't be ignored. Thoughts?
